The Flying Scot app
This section covers our mobile app for iPhone and Android. Everything above applies to the app as well; this adds what is specific to it.
What the app collects
The app holds the same booking information as the website — your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, vehicle registration and the details of your stay. If you agree to notifications, we also store a notification token issued by your phone and whether it is an iPhone or an Android device.
What the app does not collect
The app does not use your location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts, and does not ask for permission to. It contains no advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or tracking, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Notifications
If you allow them, we send two kinds: a message when your transfer bus is on its way, and a reminder shortly before you travel. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service, which passes them to Apple or Google to reach your phone. You can turn them off at any time in your phone’s settings, and signing out of the app stops them.
Who else processes your information
We use a small number of suppliers to run the service, each acting on our instructions: Stripe (card payments), Resend (email), Expo (push notifications), and Vercel and Neon (hosting and database, both within the United Kingdom and European Union). Photographs of your car’s condition are stored with Vercel. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from the Account tab in the app, or by calling us on 0141 848 6033. Deleting removes your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, saved vehicles and password. Records of bookings and payments are kept, without anything that identifies you, because we are required to retain financial records. If a car of yours is with us or a booking is still ahead of you, please call rather than deleting — we cannot erase the details of a car we are still looking after.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at Flying Scot Parking, 65 Well Street, Paisley PA1 2PZ, or call 0141 848 6033. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
